Rachel Schenberg's practice engages in diverse outputs, with a focus on projects that are specific to the context in which they evolve. Within her artistic research and work she tries to move towards understanding how meaning is made through layers of association, by creating systems which measure and map small transactions within the day-to-day and articulate a way of thinking that is relational. She has an interest in associative logic, and the overall principles of equivalence: how objects, ideas and places can be equated to another.

Most recently she has been researching portable works made for the scale of the hand to ask questions of how this location, which we carry with us, might be a site for making-meaning. These works have taken the form of smaller sculptural objects made to be held, used or transported, such as tools, jewellery, puppets, games and books, as well as text-based work—both through publications or reading-performances.
